Yes, I still have it as I've been out of town for the last six months.

Looking at the picture and knowing there was a change in 2006: Am I correct to say this one is the first generation? So then it's based on the 1998–2006 Ranger (Mazda B-series).

Good question. I have never actually taken it off-road. I ended up using it very little: only around 25,000 km. Never been out of the city.

I don't really know. I do know it was one of the last SORV versions, which are hard to find.

You should be able to determine whether it has diff locks by the button on the console and the owner manual. Marketing hype notwithstanding, I don't think an off-road vehicle without at least a rear diff lock could qualify as "severe off-road".

No argument here. The "severe off-road version (SORV)" terminology is theirs, not mine. I'm just using their term for the package, not offering my own descriptive term. As I'm still out of station, I do not access to the manual, etc., right now. There is a button on the console, but I don't know if it's meant to engage diff locks or not. Again, I used this SUV little and never off-road.
