I live at level 12 Thamrin Residences.

Correct, Senayan City Mall.

The Sitra stick is poor, but that's normal given the small size of it's internal antenna.

I am using the "Big Bro" device, now upgraded with an external 16 DBi yagi antenna from wajanbolic, pointing to the SITRA base station, and it works like a dream. SITRA will tell you they only support up to 5th floor, but that's nonsense if you use the right equipment.

Can I ask which level was this stall located at in Senayan City Mall? Thanks.

I don't remember...it was a temporary booth.

The most recent place where I saw them selling the Big Bro was in Plaza Semanggi Ground Floor, next to a Bra shop.

The easiest way is to call their support number and ask, they change the locations of these temporary booths sometimes.

I'm just wondering why in the world Thamrin Residence is not allowing the residents to subscribe any other internet service like speedy or First Media just like any other apartment in Jakarta does.
Why is it seems being "arranged" such only ONE internet service provider "Mustika Memadata" that can provide internet service in Thamrin Residence Apartment? Does Indonesia supposed to have a business sector monopoly regulation/law somewhere ?
This is just so annoying, unreasonable, and unaccepted. As resident of Thamrin Residence, we should probably get together sometime and speak out for our complains together and make some kind of proposal/complain letter to the management office or somethin. They are just becoming more and more arrogant if none of us do somethin about it.

And the most weird of all, how come Thamrin Residence doesn't even have any "head" of neighborhood who can coordinate things as well as concern with their residences as how any other place in Indonesia do have one.

Are all these things being made in a way "intentionally" with the purpose of the management office could take profit as much as they can from the residences? Where is the democracy in all this. So ridiculous apartment ever!!!!

After several fruitless phone calls, all I know are:
1. Fastnet and Max3 won't even bother installing their network in our homes no matter how much we ask. (Hint : Husband offered to pay the full installation fee to connect The Plaza building to Thamrin Residences. No dice)
2. Basically the building management had to take the first step, maybe inviting the service providers to manage Thamres, before they would even consider selling internet here.
3. The management is not going to do anything as long as the monopoly agreement (current winner : Memadata) is still in effect.

Actually, from what I've read in other websites, most apartment in Jakarta doesn't even provide internet providers. Those that do are usually selling Telkomspeedy (which is the connection used by Memadata, at grossly inflated prices), and FirstMedia.

Funny trivia : The apartment next door, Cosmo Mansion, is currently serviced by the Bizznet network a.k.a Max3. 5Mbps and TV for 500K per month.

Oh, well, we can only dream for the same service here. I just got mad with the provider and plastered a sticker in front of their office to return my calls. XD

If there is such plan on gathering or whatever "union protest" as you were referring please DO let me know, and I am for sure will participate on such action... these f*#%ers definitely need some kick on the butt!
