Hi all,
I'm not really an expat, but I've been living in the US for awhile and now moving back to Semarang. Lots of things have changed since the last time I came back home!! Btw, I'm wondering if anybody has some information about clay pigeon shooting club/range in semarang? I know they have a range at akpol but It's only for air soft gun.. I tried to ask some people around here but they don't seem to have any slightest idea about what clay pigeon shooting is, hahaha.. (or maybe i should just find a new hobby :S)
Regardless, I hope everybody is enjoying their stay in semarang.![]()
Be in Semarang this week, anybody with good knowledge of the place, where to rent house, nice areas to live, and has a car and. Would like to show me and gf around ? Happy to pay a few bob for the service. Please contact me.Aveagoodday.
I was wondering if anyone can give me info about Semarang. I haven't lived there for almost 2 years now, so my info is out of date. I'm trying to help develop the Wikivoyage.org article about it.
I need info on tourist destinations in and nearby (Old Smg, Sam Poo Kong, the museums, Lawang Sewu, and other historically/culturally/religiously interesting places; Bandungan, Ambarawa's Train museum, etc.); shopping (Simpang Lima, etc.); restaurants and eateries (Pak Edi's Tahu Gimbal, Es Putar Conglik, Martabak Manis Jagalan, On-On Pub, Mutiiara, Holiday,IBC, etc.); nightlife; hotels (Ciputra, Grand Candi, Gumaya, etc.); and anything else a traveller might want to see, like Danar Hadi Batik or the bencong district (haha). And, of course, prices and opinions!
If you want to contribute directly, just go to Semarang. We'll be happy to have more editors help us tell about Indonesia, since there aren't many from Indonesia with recent experience here! Remember that this is a travel guide, not an encyclopedia, so casual writing is fine as long as you write about what travelers need to know!
If you don't feel comfortable editing yourself - maybe your English isn't great - no problem! Post it to the talk page of the place (but not all places, like Pariaman, have an article yet), or you can send the info to me and I'll post it for you. Saya bisa bhs Indonesia!
Namaste, peace & love,
Glenn

Hi Glenn,
I see you have left Semarang, we met once at your school.
Feel free to use any material from my Semarang page on the Virtual Tourist website:
http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/c8969/126cea/4/
As that is where I post my travel experience, I don't think I will write on Wikivoyage anytime soon.
Yours,
Theo
Thanks! Which school did we meet at?
Namaste, peace & love,
Glenn

I am concerned about User Agreement. They don't seem to demand copyrights but they sure get plenty, in contrast to WV which releases anything not copyrighted into the public domain via GNU/CC/SA etc. If I quote materials from your articles, would that be considered a violation and get you or me or WV in trouble? Otherwise, I can just look for information and completely rewrite it. What do you think?
Namaste, peace & love,
Glenn
