    I love this country.
I once saw a guy transporting a goat on his bike when I was in Bandung. By the way, the goat was still alive but all tied up

You seem you will be living in Bandung for long then ...

I would not bother to buy a wash machine in Indonesia as I could easily pay "pembantu" which will also do the washing and iron ....
Are you really painting your own house ???.
You seem like you are still living in the Yorkshire - UK then ....
In Indonesia the cost of labour is so cheap, so I would not bother painting my house by myself
Sometimes it is a person interest to apply the theory of "comparative advantage" from David Ricardo.
Pay someone to do the painting and you could maximise your earning/time by doing the one you are good at ...

My home in Indonesia is with my Indonesian family... the washing machine is my gift to them... with small children in the house a washing machine is a big help. We were all painting and had fun even the 4 yr old had a roller... It involved paint fights; making hand/footprint pictures with the children, sticking flower motifs on the wall etc. Beats going out getting rat-arsed & waking with a hangover
The labour in my home/office is better employed doing what THEY are good at, computers n stuff.

To concur is to consent to or agree with Adindas (as I am sure you know)...
I may not reveal quite what I consented to.
However I do agree with my choice to move here.
Indonesia for me is about the people here.
I am sure the scenery and nature and the landscape and islands and cities all have their charm.
In my experience this is all worthless without someone to share the experience.
I am lucky to have the latter.
