Bumping thread?

What do you guys think about the board automatically brings up threads that are 'bumped' by posts? Meaning...if one person has an update to previous/old posts, he/she can post an update (either with new questions or just updates in general). Right now I think updates don't necessarily push the thread up.

I'd rather update old threads rather than posting a new topic? Any good suggestions?

Sometimes an update is relevant, sometimes new topic is better.

If a poster starts bumping an old thread for no reason they'll get told off.
