Have you ever heard "Sandpit" the band Stephanie was in before she joined SFK, kind of in a similar vein as SFK. IMO very underrated, expect hard to find there albums/EPs these days, heres a link to some of there songs from there only full length album.

Yes I have heard and listened to their album. Their music is similar to SFK but Paul Dempsey makes SFK more unique and interesting.

Oh Stephen Malkmus and his band had a concert at the corner recently but I didn't get the ticket. His solo album is fantastic!

Yeah I saw that, I saw him years ago at splendour in the grass at byron and he was pretty good, i was tempted to go to his corner gig, but we live at Phillip Island so its a bit of a mission, i use to be right into it seeing bands in melbourne etc when i was younger, but these days maybe just get to a couple gigs a year.

BTW. have you heard "Money for rope" there a young and upcoming Melbourne band in a kind of similar vein as bands mentioned, great young band live, very energetic, good stage presence, unique with the two drummers, IMO best new Australian band I've seen/heard for a long time.

One of the masterpieces of jazz. If you like Kind of Blue, you'll love this one.
