    Default Proof of health insurance?

    Hello all,
Just wondering when you're asked for proof of health of insurance, what kind of proof did you give? I was asked to give mine and I just emailed a front copy of my insurance card and just like my 'riwayat hidup' i hope that's enough and they're just looking for something to put on file....as far as actually getting sick, I have cousins and uncles in a couple hospitals so I should be ok insurance or not

I'm not even sure of what kind of visa I have, but I know I've submitted letter of references, resumes, passport, birth certificate, 'riwayat hidup', etc. This proof of insurance is the latest.

They keep mentioning 'KIMS' (and I was told it is valid for five years).

but then I learned KIMS is not called that anymore...it's called KITAS, but I see that KITAS means you can only stay, but not work...and it's not for five years or at the very least with KITAS can I open my own bank account? I don't doubt that the person doing this is capable...I just don't deal with him directly (the company does).

From what I read in this Forum , the only KITAS which requires a health insurance is the KITAS for retired people (55 y.o. and over , cannot work) .
But if your company is dealing with it , isn't it for working in Indonesia ?

You can certainly open bank account(s) in Indonesia if you have any type of KITAS .

Correct...it's for working in Indonesia. It's kinda confusing for me because it's the first time for them taking care of this and I don't deal directly with the actual person doing it...so it's kinda like talking to the secretary who deals with their agent, who talks to somebody else..so sometimes things get lost in the translation.

but good to know about the bank account..thanks for your reply Marcus!

    P.S. I'm sooo not 55 yet!!

Just need to vent a little bit (and an update)....so after all this time....I was told that the immigration officer who's doing my paperwork is going on a one month 'haji vacation' to Mekkah...so by the time he starts my papers again, it would've been three months of wasted time.

Just a little early taste of stupid typical game playing Indo style....

I am confused. I thought the Hajj was supposed to take place at a specific time (which was about 5 months ago). What is a "haji vacation"???

I have being dealing with the immigration offices (2) in my city during about 9 years , interacting with immigration officers more than 200 times , and NEVER faced such situation . Better than that , I NEVER faced a situation of having to return the next day because an officer didn't come to work .

After your company asking you for health insurance and birth certificate for a work KITAS , and now saying this , I would start being worried about your company , not the immigration office .

Company is family business...so no worries there...except that they're inexperienced in dealing with these things. I'm more worried about the agent we're using...although was told 'even though the agent is gone, the process is ongoing'....

gotta love ambiguity in Indo sometimes!

Thanks Marcus, this is already a 2nd agent I've used. Should've asked this question before I started the process!.
