I was directed by Marcus from my other thread about ex-WNI/KITAP thread. Just wanted to make sure that ex-WNIs getting their KITAPs don't mean that we will have to regain our Indonesian citizenship, correct?

The only two complications for me to keep my US citizenship would be:

    1. Not being able to buy a house- but this should be no problem if in the near future I can have a house under a long 50 years HGB. That is if I can (and want) to buy an overpriced piece of property here.
    2. More important than number one...I think I cannot be a shareholder of a local company without making that company a PMA. If one day I inherit my family business, not sure how I can keep operating it without having to change all the company's legal status.

Eks-WNI being issued a KITAP are free to remain WNA if they wish too, as long as they do not become WNI by a procedure of naturalization.
A KITAP is a requirement to become Indonesian, for those who are not married to a WNI, but it doesn't mean that one is forced to become WNI once a KITAP is issued.

As a foreigner, you can NOT have a HGB title under your name for a house.

Once you achieve WNI status, no need for KITAS and work permit anymore! Yes! And surely that would be grounds to negotiate a raise with your company, if they weren't paying KITAS and work permit every year?
I am going relocate to Indonesia end of this month. I would appreciate if you could let me know which agent you used? Thanks.
