Default Best apartments in Lippo Karawaci

For those who live in the Lippo Karawaci area:

What are the best apartments in the area that offer rental units?

Big thing I'm looking for is high security and 'being new' and proximity to the major shopping areas.

Hi, what sort of apartment are you looking for? how many bedrooms etc. We live in Lippo and are currently renting a townhouse/apartment here. There are a few available for rent in this complex and security is not a problem, less than 100 meters from our door is the security post and they do patrols randomly. 10-15 minute drive away is the supermall that has almost everything. Driving time is only an estimate, depending on traffic, we did manage it in 5 minutes one time.

    Von,

We're looking for a 1 - 2 bedroom place, preferably brand new and very close to the big mall. Prefer to live in Expat area.

No rush as we probably won't be there for a few more months.

What's Lippo Karawachi like in general? I hear it's very 'Western' looking.

Are rental rates generally the same in Karawachi as they are in other parts of Jakarta, give or take?

Also, are there only the two schools there: Global Jaya and the big Christian school?

    Cheers.

Hi DogBert, There are no brand new apartments in Karawaci, But they are building new apartments next to the supermall. They won't be finished until 2013. The rental rate depends on the area and the size, here in Lippo it is quite reasonable. 7mil per month for fully furnished 2 bedroom townhouse.
Most expats seem to live closer to the city in Kemang and rental rates are rediculous to say the least, almost 3 times as much or more.
There are a lot of expats here too. The Australian International school is about 30min away and there are some oothers here too, but I'ld have to do some more research.

Lippo Karawaci is quite a nice area, close to freeway to the city. Huge supermall that has everything you would need, as well as many restaurants, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Western, etc. There are also a few bars for chilling out. We find it a relaxed and easy going area.

    Hi Dogbert,

Try "Amartapura" apartment just a walking distance away from Supermal Lippo Karawachi, good luck
