    The only way it can happen it's Astra decide to build themself motorcycle... and that will never happen! Way more easy to have to deal with foreign company who want sold bike in Indo than dealing with the manufacture/marketing of vehicle.
    That's an interesting story, because Astra was trashed by Suharto telling BI to call in some loans -- after Astra refused to pay standard 10% baksheesh.

    So is this an example of "battle of two titans" -- one supposedly mafiosi family group fighting another mafiosi family group?

      Government in Indo are made of multiple coalition, the idea of a strong (democratic) government don't exist in Indo.

        Actually, I find that encouraging. In the US, for example, there are many wealthy people, so broad coalitions can form as privilege/favors shift back and forth. Here, in Indonesia, I thought there was only a handful of oligarchs, almost like Russia.
