Hi everyone my name is Pete, I am looking to visit the country in a few months and I am so excited!

My visit will be to check out some of the larger cities to scope out for future residency. I am in search of friends who might be able to show me around and give me some pointers on anything in general.

And that is no problem when my body gets too old for the snow, the beach can be my retirement get away.

Ah, so switch to surfing then...

But there won't be any of that in the bigger cities (which are mainly on Java), don't expect bounty island beaches. I guess you mention cities because of potential work and that makes sense. But there you won't have that 'vacation' feeling and getting to Bali or so takes time (and a flight). Then I'd rather check out San Juan (PR), Barcelona (ES) or Rio (BR). Eventually Thailand.
