I'm sure you need to learn Bahasa Indonesian badly.

Hey, Alia, you're a meany-face. I went and sent of an apologetic PM and everything... What planet is that then, and is there anyone there who wants to get a group together to take Bahasa Indonesia lessons in Bandung? Or, are they all kinda just hanging out with you and being meanies together?

Happyman, I think you can safely assume that there is no one reading the forum at the moment who (a) lives in Bandung; (b) wants to take Bahasa Indonesia lessons; AND (c) wants to take them as part of a group that you form. (No offense, it is just that some people might prefer private lessons, or might not want to take lessons with others whose level they weren't sure of - it's a bummer to be in a class with people who are significantly beyond/below one's own level.) Those are three highly specific criteria that would have to be met before you would find any takers.

The reality is, not every request made on this forum meets with enthusiastic responses every time.

Take me, for example: I periodically post on the forum looking for people to join my gamelan group. It's in Jakarta, where many posters live. No experience is needed, dinner is included, it's a fun way to socialise with a mix of expats and Indonesians... now, I ask you, what could be more tempting?

Apparently many things, as I rarely get responses. But I don't take it personally, I just wait a few weeks or months and post again. Once in a while I get a new member that way, but I also use other methods to get the word out.

So, you're saying that my first thread, My very first thread in these forums, that I cared for and nurtured, loved and tended, has died? No!!!!!
Unless we could have a smiley funeral?
