• Major hair loss-help!!

Hi everyone! I'm a new girl here(in Surabaya as well as on this Forum)and my most immediate & serious problem is that my hair is falling out by the handful!! Would any of you kind lady residents of Surabaya recommend a reliable & reasonable treatment clinic/salon/hairdresser who might help me? I live near Supermal Pakuwon in Darmo so some place nearby would be great. Thanks in advance

I'd start here, POISONS THAT CAUSE DRAMATIC HAIR LOSS. Hairloss in women is not the same as hairloss in men.

My main thought is that your alopecia is related to stress. However it is not always explicable, DO not waste time and money on salons unless you are buying a wig
there is no magic cure or treatment- no matter what they tell you.

Hi Stari,

Welcome to Surabaya and to the forum as well.

Sorry to hear about your hair, I feel you. My hair was also falling out several months ago for no reason. I was thinking about the reason, was it hormone, stress, food or anything, but couldn't find any answer. I finally cut it (not too short though cos I like my hair long), as I believe the root isnt too strong for long hair. So, if you have long hair, probably first step is to cut your hair since its probably too heavy for the root. I changed my shampoo, using Lo'real now, have more conditioner after shampooing and add some hair tonic afterwards. It stops now, only falls about 2-3 hairs for the whole day which is completely normal.

I never go to any hair clinic, but I heard of this one : http://www.medisonhair.com/
Perhaps a visit there could give you way out.

Take care and good luck.

I agree with Alia.... Before I moved here the stress of that and other things going on (i think) was causing my hair to fall out I lots so much I was freaking... but I got it cut... and now it seems ok.... So maybe try to get rid of some stress and cut your hair and see if it improves

Good luck

Every year in around October/November my hair falls out quite heavily. Not just me, but lots of my friends too. It seems to be a seasonal thing. A good moisturising treatment usually does the trick and after a week or two it stops. A change in water, stress, and city pollution can all be contributing factors.

Hi there,

i am a hairdresser and I have come across many of my clients with the same problem. Remember it is normal to lose up to 100 hairs per day as hair has a life span and sheds. It could also be a new diet, stress, hormones effecting your hairloss. I would recommend getting a vitamin especially for hair skin and nails to give your body the nutrience it needs to keep hair healthy. A cream bath is creat to stimulate the blood flow to the follicle. Some of my clients have sworn by using cold water to wash their hair with. They said they have noticeably seen a difference in their hair.
Hopefully this advise is useful to you

Hi Ladies, found this topic since I have exactly the same problem, but my hair started to fall out after giving birth and getting dengue fever not long afterwards. Not sure if I want to cut it, since I try te let my hair grow at the moment... I wonder if it could be falling out from hormones and stress maybe and it will be over later? Btw my eyes seem to be getting worse too ??

No Shampoo and Soap. Can You Take It?

Google this keyword, "NO POO". Or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_poo

Add Calcium, Zinc, and Vitamin D supplement to your diet. First indicator from Supplement? You'll notice no more falls of eyelash or eyebrow.

Do that for a year, you will notice your hair will regrow (by not using shampoo + supplements).

I have been doing no shampoo since late 2010. And it works!

Hi stari, I used to have similar problems. Long time ago I work in a very stressful environment and I have bald patches in my head. It's horrible, my hair isn't that long but I need to constantly tied it to a pony tail everyday. Afraid if my bald spots can be seen.

So I went to jakarta skin center and get treatments. First I phoned the place and ask if there are any doctor specialised in baldness/ hair loss, and the receptionist told me there are one. I ask when will the doctor be available and then arrange appointment with him. He gave me injections and laser treatments few times in 2months. He also gave me some tonic to apply in my bald area.

After that the last time I had major hair loss is when I straighten/ smoothing my hair, I think I need to do a lot of hairspa treatment before smoothing my hair ever again.

What ThomasEnriko wrote also true, "No Shampoo" works too. I only put conditioner in my hair these days, I only shampoo once a month when I went to hair saloon to do some beauty maintenance.
