  • Almost 50% of Americans Have Heart Disease

    From https://www.thejakartapost.com/life/...ase-study.html , 02 Feb 2019

[... By definition, heart disease includes coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke and high blood pressure (reading of 130/80 mm Hg or over) ...
Heart disease is the world's leading killer, taking 17.6 million lives in 2016 ...

Almost half of Americans have heart disease, ... being almost 41% with high blood pressure and 9% with the other heart diseases ...

"As one of the most common and dangerous risk factors for heart disease and stroke, this overwhelming presence of high blood pressure can't be dismissed ..." ... "Research has shown that eliminating high blood pressure could have a larger impact on heart disease deaths than the elimination of all other risk factors among women and all except smoking among men." ...

About 80% of heart diseases can be prevented, through healthy lifestyle choices like diet, exercise, maintaining a healthy weight and not smoking; and by controlling high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol, the American Heart Association said.]

Roughly two-thirds of American adults are overweight with 35% of men and 40% of women qualifying as obese. Its no mystery why we are dropping like flies. And we are exporting our life (or rather death) style of culinary excess.

Yes Waarmstrong , it is no mystery like you said . In my view , how we deal with our health is one of our biggest worldwide failure .

I learned how we deal with Boeing , Airbus , ... civil airplanes . It is about problem prevention . But regarding our own lives (health , poverty , war , ...) , we don't think about problem prevention .
