  • Another AliExpress topic

    Hi all,

I've looked through this forum and scoured the internet for anything related to calculating import cost on a simple 100$ tablet from AliExpress. The results of my search are down links, broken web-apps and pieces of text too complex to give any straight answers.

Anyone know where I can find some solid information on the subject?
OR anyone know one of these companies that order the stuff for you from either AliExpress or Amazon and then ship it here (Jakarta) using their know-how to dodge a good portion of the import tax?

I've read plenty of stories from people resulting in "this might happen" or "that might happen" but no real solid info.

    Kind regards

I have been dealing with AliExpress and the staff do not really understand English or customer service.

I have been buying a lot of hand tools from AliExpress and did not have to pay any import tax. Also, I bought some residential solar lights and all the items purchased from AliExpress were never over $100.00. Most of my Sellers marked on the value of the item usually, "SAMPLE" for the Buyer to waive the import duties. My suggestion is to ask the Seller to note the airway bill or invoice as "SAMPLE" to waive the import tax.

So far, I have 2 bad orders which the items did not arrived; not sure if they ever credited to my account, but very long process to receive a full refund.

        (1) See link below .

        (2) You can search the internet for something like : beli dari Amazon and you will find for example : https://www.indoshopaholics.com/ , www.weshop.co.id , .. plus other related suggestions (can translate at Google Translate) . I have no idea if it works .

Regarding tablets , you may find what you are looking for here in Indonesia , or Shopee Indonesia and Lazada Indonesia (for example) offer some Chinese products (I already bought some without any problem , but not tablet and things below USD80) .

Awesome, those links are really good. Some of them I didn't see before and that shopee actually has people import what I am looking for. 98$ on AliExpress or 1,4 juta on the Indo website and they handle all the import stuff. Not bad.

          Cheers
