  • overstay 6 days with family

hi. we are family of four. we paid for voa on our arrival and we were not aware of the need to extend. when we were told to do it it was two days before 30 days. then fastboats were canceled and we were in immigration office on the last day our 30 days. we were told they need 7 days to extend but our flight is after 6 days so they sent us out. what to do? what happens if you don't have enough money at the airport. what if we can only pay for two?

You must pay your overstay , If you dont have enough money your embassy would help or try and get help from your friends or family.

They will expect you to get the money, as it's the fine for overstaying. You can withdraw funds from an ATM prior to arrival at the airport to pay for the overstay fine.

Hi, you have made your trip a mess, seems like. Try to find a way out ASAP, the longer you overstay the more fine and you will be unable to pay. Also you need to take care of your family meaning pay for stay, food, etc at a minimum. I would advice try to sell-off some stuff you have like mobile, camera, gold, or some other things that may have to get the money you need.

It was sheer wrong planning and carelessness for which only you are to be blamed, dont expect mercy or easy way of leaving Indonesia unless your family or friends come to your rescue.

Good Luck. Have safe and early flight back home.

If you can't sell anything, try to get someone from home to send you the money .. or use a credit card to withdraw as much as you can and present that to immigration as all the funds you have. The longer you report, the more the fine grows, so putting it off won't solve the problem. Let us know how it turns out!
