  • "Like" Button.

I'd like to see "like" buttons made available on each post to reward positive input. They've proven to be well received on other boards and would work well here as well, I think.

Just put it next to the "edit" "quote" icons.

People giving the reps aren't displayed.

Example. Put your curser on the number of likes. http://www.khmer440.com/chat_forum/v...hp?f=9&t=49874

Be warned! Play on the above forum at your own risk.

I just realized you have to be logged onto Khmer440 to see the "likes" and who have issued them.

But likes are really for the lazy - I liked that picture, article, comment - but I am too lazy to contribute so I will just hit the like button. Its ok for a visual base platform like FB (here is a photo of my lunch today = 34 likes) but the whole idea of a forum such as this is interaction and the exchange of opinions, ideas and information, (as well as taking the piss), if not it would just degenerate into people "liking" everything, which totally defeats the objective of this forum.

Can anyone advise me about extending a visa - 63 likes but no contribution.
My girlfriend is leaving me and wants 50 jt - 87 likes but no contribution.

Likes are for FB not here, we are a bit too highbrow for all that common riff raff sort of stuff

I was using FB in a 'semi professional way' (you don't have much choice nowadays marketing & sales wise) but I hate it. Esp. when I saw a lady had three different user accounts and liked her own posts. It becomes some kind of competition.

A car forum I know, had like and dislike buttons. It is amazing how people react when they hit -3 or so (after that your post is deleted); some freak out completely and become very emotional. Of course the -just to say some names- KingWilly's and Pimpins find huge pleasure in getting them there. Now they only kept the like which does give an idea how well an opinion is perceived, so it can work and add value.

If you prefer apple sauce to apples and your mom cuts up your meat for you, then yes, I think you might prefer a "like" button to actually expressing an opinion in writing.
