  • English Service Church in South Jakarta

    Hi everyone,

If you are looking for a traditional style English service church in South Jakarta, please visit Jakarta Community Church ( JCC) in Jalan Melawai I, Blok M. It is situated on the church grounds of GPIB Effatha. Services are held in the Gedung Pertemuan every Sunday at 10am.

Jl. Melawai I No.2, RT.3/RW.1, Melawai, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta City, Jakarta 12160

This church will celebrate its 65th anniversary in July 2018. It was started in 1953 by Rev Prof Dr. Richard Haskins. It has a long history and was at one time the largest Expat church in Jakarta prior to the unrest in the 90's. My husband and his parents who are from the UK, attended JCC in 1981 for 3 years. And when we came to live in Jakarta we attended JCC as well until 2015.

Today JCC comprises of a small, tight knit group of people, both locals and expatriates. The church has gone through lot of changes and overcome many challenges in the last few years. They are welcoming new members to enrich and to be part of the new generation of JCC.

My time in Jakarta was enriched mainly because of the friends I made in JCC. Even though I am no longer there, my heart remains with them and I think of them very often. For this I remain eternally grateful to them.

I hope you will pay JCC a visit and help it grow.
