  • Registration of birth

My Daughter was recently born in Bali, I need to get a birth certificate, I have been told that we have to get it from Sumatra, as this is where my wife was born. It seems inconceivable to me, That a Baby born in Bali needs to be registered in Sumatra because that is where the mother was born. Can anyone she'd light on this for me ?

Because most cities issue the birth certificate for free , it is possible that a city may only accept to register children of the people residing in that city (so in your case , a KK and a KTP from Bali may be required to get a certificate in Bali) .

Just try to request the certificate at the Bali's applicable government office to see what they say . See below an example of regulation (Kabupaten Bandung) .
