I would like to know if anyone has any experience with BPK Penabur in Sentul City? How do they treat the teachers? Are they reliable on pay and give the proper benefits like return flights, yearly bonus etc??

Wakeboarding Extracurricular for Your School - FREE

Hi guys, do you know cable wakeboarding?
so currently im working as PR and Marketing Manager from Ancol Epic Cablepark, the venue for this new sport in Jakarta.
even though its new, WE ARE GROWING REALLY FAST!

then, I have a though to invite you and your students and your school (Sure)!
to be our partner to make this as extracurricular in your school.

or even better i want to give your school privileges to try out this sport couple weeks or maybe month for free?
assist by professional and indonesian athletes too.
we are really passionate about this sport and would like to spread out our passion it self.
This sport already become extra in some of countries such as OZ and NZ
but the point of this is i want you and your kids have fun! thats all~

who knows any of them will be the future athlete?

I was wondering if any of you know where I can find teaching/classroom supplies shop in Jakarta, something like Lakeshore Learning in USA.

I saw an online shop (http://www.equipteachers.com) based in Jakarta (I'm just assuming, actually), but I was hoping there's an actual store/shop I can visit to browse.

Would I be able to teach English?

Would a non native English speaker with a BA in English and a MA in Education be able to work in Indonesia teaching English? I'm considering taking up English studies in Uni.

If it matters; I speak English fluently and I can do a British accent (receive pronunciation) and general American accent if required.

Or is it all about holding the right passport all that matters?

Hi folks,

Just wondering if there is much opportunity to obtain English teaching work in Bali during normal 'school hours' (as in, not afternoons/evenings). Im a high school teacher in Australia. I have young kids, one of which will be starting school next year and Im researching the possibility of spending a few years living in Bali. I imagine teaching English would be the most plausible option for me. However, I dont really want to be working afternoons and evening as I would never get to spend time with my children.

Any thoughts???

Hey there everyone. First off I am SO sorry if this thread has been made in the wrong forum, I am in a bit of a desperate situation, so I only did what I thought was correct when making this thread - mods, admins, please pardon any error, and I do so hope that if I've made some mistake this information can still be made availible somewhere on the site so I can get my friend some help.

A friend of mine, Kirk Elliot Neville, British citizen and English teacher working in Jakarta Indonesia was arrested this last February for possession of two joints and a gram of Pot, and now faces 4 to 12 years, (One report said up to 20!!) in prison! Kirk, was well known on Youtube as DerivedEnergy, and we, his friends are desperately trying to find information about his condition and ways that we can help him! I'm writing this thread to ask you guys - since you are all teachers there, did anyone here know him? Do you know where he is now? Does anyone know what really happened? ANY information would be amazing - we just want to get him help!

There is a petition already up for Kirk, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check it out and if you canm sign it and spread it around to whoever you think might be interested in also signing it! This is an insane amount of punishment for such a small 'crime'.:
