Anyone knows or can recommend a resort outside but near Jakarta?
Preferably family friendly.

Lido Lakes Resort (http://www.lidolakes.com/) in Sukabumi.

Fruit Park Mekarsari (http://www.mekarsari.com/) in Cileungsi (near Mr. President's residence in Cikeas)

Taman Safari (http://www.tamansafari.com/) Cisarua Bogor.

Thousand Island (including Tiger Island; there are 330 islands to choose from)

Taman Impian Jaya Ancol is a resort by itself but the beach can be crowded and the water...well...(see Thousand Island for better views of the beach and water)

Pantai Anyer in Cilegon, Banten.

Pantai Carita in Labuan, Banten.

Tanjung Lesung Resort (http://www.tanjunglesung.com/) in Pandeglang, Banten, West Java. Located in between Anyer and Ujung Kulon on the Western Shore of West Java.

There is also, Puncak. If you don't mind the traffic going to there and going back to Jakarta...

Then there is Bandung which is reachable within 1 1/2 to 2 hours by toll road.

Whew...you get plenty of options there, buddy.

I'm game for pretty much anything so long the car ride is no longer than 3 hrs.
We have 2 active young kids, who'd rather be runnnig around that sitting in their car seats.

You can also take a look at this page by Family Guide to Jakarta (http://www.familyguidetojakarta.web.id/travel/weekendgetaways.html) ... we tried one out last weekend and we intend to try more on the list! Has info on which resorts are good for older/younger children, which I found very helpful.

Problem is that anywhere near to Jakarta is very crowded unless you can get away at off peak times. Forget it over a long holiday weekend.

Tidung Island

min 15 persons

If you wanna go on the weekend, you should book 2 weeks before, because too many Jakarta people on the weekend.

but if you wanna go on the weekdays, you don't have to book, just minimal 15 persons. and its cheaper than on the weekend hehe :)

I wanna go there too, but preferably on the weekdays :)

So you can contact me incase you want to go holiday to Tidung Island.
