The problem is a legal one. Anyone who would like to offer you a job has first to apply for an IMTA (work permit) which is given annualy and cost USD 1200 as a standard fee. The procedure is a bit lengthy because the company needs first to submit an employment plan, which has to be approved by the manpower dept, then they have to pay the fee and get the IMTA issued. Then you will have to go out of the country to seek a working visa, re-enter and apply for a resident permit.
As you see, this is not an easy path.
As for working illegally, jobs are not to be found by the bunch and risks are high. The diving industry is not as prone to employ foreigners as its counterpart in Thailand for eg.
Sorry to desappoint you and not to have any positive answer to your demand :(

If you want to be with your family, what's wrong with Perth itself? I thought it's a prosperous town!
