Anybody know a good website for second hand cars in Jakarta? Does anyone have any idea of the price of second hand cars?

Second-hand cars are hideously expensive here and if you can at all afford it you would be better off buying new. Indonesian sellers seem to think that a 1 year old car is worth up to 90% the price of a new one, irrespective of how or where it has been driven. Even an old Toyota Starlet can cost Rp60 jt. The only really cheap cars are ancient fuel guzzlers.

We bought a used car that was advertised in the Pos Kota, the local gossip and classifieds broadsheet. It was 2 years old at the time. Its been a good/lucky purchase and if the newspaper is to be believed, its worth about as much now as when we bought it. Like Gffgold mentioned the prices of used cars are high and appreciate whenever new car prices go up. Its also very easy to get screwed, especially true for the uninitiated.

It's been sometimes since I looked for cars... Try mobil123.com, warungmobil.com. That's all I can remember now. There are more website for used cars.

www.mallmobil.com (http://www.mallmobil.com). If you want to know about the price of second hand cars, check the used car dealers first. Usually the owner will sell 3-7 million below dealer's price.
