Hi everybody,
I'm a foreign graduate and after 3 years back in Indonesia, my English gets really rusty. I'm wondering if anybody wants to be help me practicing my English. In return, I can help you with your Indonesian, or maybe some <very very> basic Chinese.

Anybody? Please? :help:

I can help, I just got back from US but I'm not an expat. I like meeting new people, so if you don't mind conversing in english with an Indonesian I'm sure we can chat over coffee or something.

Good idea, but it's a bit expensive just to find a conversation partner. I'm stuck here for now anyway.

I'm sure nobody cares, but just in case, Tokek and I are PM-ing and texting about practicing English over coffee, but we didn't find the time to actually meet yet.

Btw, somehow I have this funny feeling that this thread will be a lot rowdier if there's a lil' somethin' somethin' involved in the exchange :D

It will get rowdier if it involves something stronger than coffee.:D

I think your right. Please exchange more then add it to the thread. Leading up to, during and just after the extra exchange could certainly add to both of your vocabularies in said languages. A list of vocab in the languages could be helpful for others in similiar exchanges especialy if new to Indonesia and inter-racial activities.

:D I'm pretty open minded. We can do beer/wine, as long as I'm not required to drink. I have the Asian Curse :(

Well, I'm a firm believer that gentlemen (and ladies, that is) don't kiss and tell.
Besides, I'm sure that vocab is not important when both parties are game to participate in such exchange. Don't you think so?

Sure. Send me a ticket to Vancouver and I will make my way to Duncan.

CanuckBule, in Spanish we have the saying, "el que mucho abarca, poco aprieta", which in English means roughtly that the who tries to reach for a lot, ends up grabbing little. "Don't bite more than you can chew" or "Jack of all trades, master of none" would be the English equivalents. My suggestion is to pick one language only.
