Hi,

I'm from Germany and living now since October 09 in Batam and I'm wondering to see just Indians...and of course Indonesians... :-)

If here (on Batam) is maybe some european, especcially from Germany, I would be happy If you just give a reply. I'm missing a good european conversation!

Bye.

Hi Dennis,
There are many europeans in Batam, mostly in Nagoya area at bars and restaurants on weekends. Golf clubs are popular with europeans and I have just found a group of guys who go offroading on their enduro motorbikes at weekends. There is a gym at Baloi and some of the better hotels allow use of their facilities, swimming pools, gyms etc. There are squash courts over at Harris resort at waterfront. What sort of stuff are you looking for?
Pop into the Bistro and have a chat with michael (German fella). His food is a bit pricey but always good.
all the best,

Yeah,

I know michael allready. I can't see the pubs at nagoya anymore...

Golf I tried last week-end for the first time at the ?Krankow? Driving Range. Next to Angrek mas, oposite of sukajadi. Not so easy like it looks...but the price was ok. 100 balls for 35k Rp. I don't know if it is much, but for me it seems ok. How is it if you wanna play at a golf place. Did you have to enter a club or can you play for an entry fee?

Offroading? On Batam with Motorbikes? Sure? Because i know here just the small Scooter (max. 220ccm). I know that you can go offroading somewhere in malaysia...it would be nice, if you have a litle bit more informations about that, because I love Motrobikes. (miss myone :-( )

Last Week-end i drove to Waterfront city, but ist was not so intresting...but i've seen the harris resort, but didn't try to get in. is it a nice place?

What I'm searching for? Something to spend my weekends with it. I learned diving now here on Batam. It was the first official SSI School. They try to build up an real School with shop. But it is just in the beginning, but not bad! Offroading would be nice....wakeboarding. I hearded something from a cable ski area at waterfront, but i didn't find it. I would like to go diving some more....and if somebody knows a good place to go jogging on batam he will be my private hero.

Many thanks for your answers....read you again.....

^ as for jogging, I always go to Sekupang, near Otorita Batam hospital, which is a hillside overlooking the ocean, a really nice view especially during early morning. plus its pretty deserted up there - not much traffic except for people heading to the hospital =)

Hello natalia, the water ski park is opposite the harris hotel in sekupang, other places i enjoy are, tepanyaki out at turi beach resort, beautiful spot, they also have jet skis for hire there. The off road motorcross bike club is great, several expats involved there, also alot of policemen aswell. Theres an offroad 4x4 club which is great fun, and you can find one of the main 4x4 workshops just after the set of lights at sekupang heading to waterfront on the left hand side, approx 150m from the set of lights. i am sure you have already visities goodies pub managed bu aussies, up at smiling hill ( Bukit senum ). My new favourite resturant is the golden fish, its a left hand turn after the second bridge on the way to barelang, sitting outside on the second storey looking back towards the first bridge, nice view cheap food and drinks.

see how you get on,

Regards
