Do you have any safe way to transfer the newspaper over to Manado? Would be interested to know the cost (publication + mailing to my PO Box in manado) fo any french publication you may have. You can PM all the details. Thanks.

Your best bet would be an electronic copy which you print yourself (which is how the OP does it I should think)

Does anyone know if the international telegraph is still available? used to be te ighlight of my week in Dar-es-salaam

I guess you are right, but I am desesperate to find publications in French for my kids and one other named "Courrier International" for me. Their e-copy is not that good. I contacted two companies in France which act as "brokers" for various publications but they don't have yet the possibility to send me the papers in Indonesia. Their website says "very soon we will do that", but there is already two years that I wait :mad: Webmaster must be Indonesian ;)

Did you ever fly emirates and drink "red beer"?

Strange question I know.

I fly Emirates most of the time but never heard about "red beer"... WTF is that???

"red beer" was consumed in huge quantities in the business class lounge in Suvarnabhumi Airport with a gentleman of my acquaintance who travelled to Dubai with me, the conversation being held in BI due to the fact that neither of us could converse in english.

The guy used to sell woodworking equipment in JKT and had moved to Thailand.

Red beer is half a glass of campari topped up with Singha.

How funny... I always fly Emirates, I have shareholds in a wood/handicraft factory in Thailand, I usually fly to Paris via Dubai from BKK or CGK, you could have easily met me in one of the Emirates BC lounge... but I never indulge in alcohol before a flight !
However, no problem to share that "red beer" anywhere else.:cool:

Hi There..... We have some france newspaper such as: Aujourd'hui en France Journal du Dimanche Le Figaro, Le Monde, Les Echos, and Liberation I have one customer in Kalimantan, i used to send the paper to him but i charge the delivery cost. The price of each paper is IDR 55.000 ( excl delivery cost ) To Kalimantan is IDR 22,000 with TIKI and its arrive around 3 days. Hope to hear from you soon, regards, Diana Jonathans

that is a great service.
And it's not only in jakarta. They have newspaper direct also on bali, where i live.
Great thing, i tell you... From time to time i order my preferred newspaper from hamburg (to cure my home sickness).
It's just so easy: Call them at any day of the week and they bring the paper directly to my office in less than an hour.
No subscription, just on demand. Cool thing.
I use it also sometimes for friends or biz partners, who come over. A nice surprise actually, as they don't expect it here and sooo quick. I read my same-day newspaper edition actually before it is on the streets in germany.
I love it!

I think the Straits Times is 60k here in Bali, Jakarta might be similair (Diana???)but its from the same day, though it might not have all the classified ads with it... that's what I know abt it. Try it...

u got that wrong....we do print the Newspaper here, thats why we can deliver the same day paper. some classifieds unavailable due to publisher policies. Some classifieds ( not all )
