Protect Your Family - K9 Protection Workshop

Hello:

I have been living in Jakarta/Bogor on and off since 1991. During this time, we have witnessed several attacks against families and expat families. Unfortunately, all we did was to listen and commiserate with the victims.

Several years ago, our house was robbed by a gang on 7 motorcycles. They were able to enter our enclosed gated community "protected" by security guards. We lost a small fortune but the trauma of the event went on for months. Since then we have invested in using security systems, security guards, military fencing, etc., but found that only guard dogs can stop:


Robbers from monitoring the house (police investigations revealed that our house was monitored from 2 different locations prior to the robbery).
Prevent unknown people from attempting to enter or survey our house
Prevent kampong folks and workers from threatening our family
Preventing security guards from betraying us!


We now own 7 dogs at home and we are inviting a Police K9 expert to run a dog protection workshop in Indonesia on Nov 28 and Nov 29. No amount of ticket sales can cover the cost of my investment in running the workshop but i am doing it for my own family, friends and i hope that other families (particularly expat families) will take advantage of this opportunity to learn and safeguard their love ones. I. “REAL K9” PROTECTION WORKSHOP – NOV 28, 2009 (Saturday)
· For those interested in understanding how to train a dog for various protection duties:
1. Perimeter protection
2. Personal protection bodyguard
3. Man trailing and security patrol work.
· Explanation & demonstration of training equipment, including the use of a muzzle for attack training
· DEMONSTRATION: Protection dog imported from The Czech Republic
Test your dog’s readiness (15+ months old). If possible, please bring an “agitation collar” & a thick leather leash.
II. FAMILY PROTECTION WORKSHOP – NOV 29, 2009 (Sunday)
SPECIFICALLY FOR BEGINNERS/FAMILIES
· Highly recommended for families to gain accurate & practical insights in buying a guard dog puppy.
· Focus of workshop:
1. Why protection trained dogs are safer for families than an untrained guard dog breed.
2. Ways to pick a guard dog puppy specifically for family protection.
3. Beginner tips for training protection puppies
4. How to prepare a puppy/young dog to protect the perimeter of your house/garden
5. How to use dog equipment for training puppies (motivation tag; ball; pillow)
and young dogs (agitation collar; sleeve)
· DEMONSTRATION : Ways to train a 5 months old puppy for future family protection

Except for personal documents and a couple of laptops, I don't have anything of exceptional value in my house. Plus a few beats of the kulkul and the whole village would be out ready to lynch the miscreants. No need for protection dogs, thanks. That being said, we are planning on a doberman for our boy when he turns three years old.

Looks to me like the three posts (Protect your family, Muzzle, Illusion) on guard dogs are simply advertisements for a service or product couched as personal statements.

yes like the over bred German Shepherd that can hardly walk!!! Why bring in "breed" dogs when Bali has one of the most genetically diverse dog species in the world.....
