Hi there, my family and I have recently moved to Manado. As I have a two year old daughter I would love for her to mix with children of a similar age and also for me to mix with other mamas!
If you are interested in meeting up with us, please drop me a line. We live in Kombos but we can meet you out somewhere.
If you know of any shaded parks or play areas that would be suitable for young children, I would also appreciate your advice.
thanks!

I take off later tonight for Malaysia and Thailand but will be back in 2 or 3 weeks for about a week before leaving again to Europe. I have a 12 and a 6 years old and a toddler (11 months). I'll get in touch with you when I'll be back. In the meantime, if you need to know anything about the city, just drop me a PM or post it. I am afraid that there is not so many expats in Manado anyway...

My boys are usually playing in the 'hood and my daughter "plays" on the land we have. It is unfortunately not a cultural thing to play in a park and the city has no public park. Todlers or young kids are usually just going out from a house to climb in an aircon car to be dropped in a shopping mall. That's it. Manadonese think that it is weird to willingly just go for a walk, even protected with an umbrella...

Hi Atlantis, we spoke a while back before I came over, you gave me info on english schools. While I am enjoying Manado and the every day being different thing, I am really missing not being able to easily go to the park or the beach as I did back in Townsville, Aust, it was a great way to kill an hour or two with my little girl. it would be great to catch up with you and your children, we have a six and an eight year old in the same area as us but some kids closer to Imys age would be great. I am happy to know about other than expat activities as I am trying to learn bahasa (and the manadonese version of it..) and it would be a great opportunity to add to my vocab as well as to my well being. Please give me a yell when you get back from Europe, mornings are best but we are happy to work around your little ones day. safe travels.
