Do you ever go to Kawah putih ...
it is south of Bandung ... and the views is really beautiful ... :)
Yeah... we've been to Ciwidey (kawah putih) with the strawberry farms and the lake there also :) I agree..much much nicer and quieter than Puncak :)
Thousand Islands we have been to Pantara, Matahari, Ayer, and Sepa....
Hi,
For ideas, why don't you try the site www.virtualtourist.com (http://www.virtualtourist.com) ?
Perhaps it takes some time to get acquainted to the site.
You may search for Destination = West Java Province, or any place within West Java.
Or go to my home page: (Search Member = theo1006) and browse the tips I posted.

Hello semut
If you do goto Pangandaran from Yogya, I recommend the bus to Chilachap (7hrs)
then the ferry to Kalipunchang (3hrs) then a bus to Pangandaran (1hr) Its a long day,
but then where ever you go in Indonesia takes time,:)
Pangandaran is a very relaxing place, dont forget to vist the fish market
and have dinner . . :)
Where ever you go have a nice holiday

Have u been to Lido Lake and resort?
It's on Jalan Sukabumi Raya, about 30 min from toll Ciawi. If no jam of course.

Hi Bianca,
Desa Sawarna (Sawarna Village) is one of surfers' destinations http://www.globalsurfers.com/spot.cfm?land=Indonesia&surfing=2949&travel=Sawarna
When I went there, I didn't pay attention to the route taken, as my friends and I rented a car with a driver who knows the route. So, I am sorry I can't answer your question.
I'll try to translate browsing results for you :
ROUTE
If you use a car, take west route to Rangkas Bitung, and go south to Malingping town and turn to east through a road with beach scenery on the left road and green paddy field on the right. As you arrive in Pasar Bayah (Bayah Market), it is suggested that you leave your car here, as the next road is only good for 4WD jeep.
Altogether,
Jakarta - Serang - Pandeglang (2 hours)
Pandeglang - Malimping - Bayah - Sawarna (less than 3 hours)
* note :
When I went there in 2006, some parts of the road in the forest to Desa Sawarna were in bad condition but Toyota Kijang car could go through it. But in one part of it, you'll have to go a really bad and steep road (70 degree), but we made it somehow. However, I suggest that you use a jeep. It is certainly NOT for sedan.
If you use public transportation, there are some routes :
1. Take a bus from Jakarta to Bogor terminal, and from Bogor terminal you can take a bus to Pelabuhan Ratu. From Pelabuhan Ratu, take a mini bus to Pasar Bayah (Bayah Market).
Once you arrive at Pasar Bayah, you can take a jeep used as public transportation to Desa Sawarna. The jeep only operates until 5PM. The road in the forest is bumpy, but once you get out of the forest, the view of stretched white sandy beach from above is breathtaking. If you happen to arrive at Pasar Bayah at above 5PM, you can take "Ojek" (rented-motorcycle). But the risk using ojek is greater as you have to go through slippery and muddy stony road.
2. From Terminal Cimone, Tangerang (Jakarta outskirt), you can take "RUDI" bus to Bayah. There is only one departure time : 6.00 in the morning. After that, take an Ojeg to Desa Sawarna.
3. From Jakarta Take a bus to Rangkas Bitung, then take a minibus to sawarna (perhaps, what it means is : from Rangkas Bitung take a minibus to Pasar Bayah, after that you can take a jeep or ojeg to Desa Sawarna).
The difficulty in transportation access is the reason why tourists omit Desa Sawarna from the list.
STAYING
When I was there, I saw some hostel was being built. I dont know the phone number. I stayed in Homestay Widhi, a residence of Pak Ade, ex-head of the village. There is no phone number, but a wartel (telecommunication kiosk) nearby has a phone number, and Ibu Nenda (the kiosk owner) will pass the message to Pak Ade. Ibu Nenda's phone number : 085210897854.
If all the above information discourages you to visit Desa Sawarna, you can join a fellow travel writer who plans to explore Desa Sawarna, but not in this September (because it is fasting month). I've contacted him and he is welcome to any body who is interested in joining him.
For further information, you can send me email or just YM me.

Kuntarini...great pics!! Thanks!!!!
Etienne and I were in Pelabuhan Ratu last week, the Ocean Queen that Paman linked.. wrong timing as we arrived in the PR town only after 5 hours from Jakarta, but got stuck in the Lebaran macet (Sunday 5th day Lebaran) at PR all the way to Ocean Queen (distance of 15kms)..we were in the car for 11 hours in that 15kms!! Needless to say I was cape deh to death..and grouchy when we arrived at the rustic commune...hahaahaah...and Etienne had to check everything in the bungalow before I even dare to step in..I am freakish with creepy crawlies..oh my god..what is that Tokei thingy?? Like a grandpapa of all cecaks or what! But the next morning, after a good sleep, the place seems like heaven!! Best lobsters the houseboy bbq for us..and nice beach but strong currents. I am still sort of scared though about the legend of Roro Kidul..since my family told me this story since I was a kid... beautiful place, and we shall definitely go again.
Tanjung Lesung in Banten propinsi is nice too..Anyer I was not too impressed, but some nice Sunda restos.

Hi Izamarina,
I am glad that you finally had a great time after all the effort :)
That's how to travel around the biggest archipelago in the world :D
To get the great place, you have to go all the way. And sadly, I find out that traveling within Indonesia is more expensive than if we are traveling abroad. But it is paid off after all. Maybe the saying "the price/money spent doesnt lie" is applicable here too :D
I suggest that you travel to other places instead of coming back again to the same place. If you love beach and great sea food, go to Tanjung Tinggi Belitung and hop on small islands around.
Or, let's take a look at this......it seems interesting for sea food adventurers http://www.yogyes.com/en/yogyakarta-tourism-object/beach/ngrenehan/
I've never been there, and I am just about to plan to go there this end of December, after watching the Gerebeg Suro ceremony. The ceremony takes place in Yogya Palace. Royal Troopers will march around Yogya. These are the troopers pics in my friend's album http://suluhpratita.multiply.com/photos/album/70/jogjanese_trooper
29 Des (Islamic New year) is a perfect moment to see traditional ceremony in many parts of Indonesia. There are labuhan (throwing offering to the sea), etc.
Be free to PM me in case you have something in your mind. I might have no answer, but I'll gv you my friend/contact's email address for you to ask more thoroughly.
Hi Kuntarini...it's located in Malingping, West Java?? I've been there once, to CiKotok (?), visiting supplier. It's so faaar, 3 hours from North Jakarta , but the beaches look like transparent & very beautiful. Not much people play at that beach, right?

Hi Tienshie,
Which one do you mean, Sawarna Beach?
Yup, Sawarna is not quite far from Malingping. And not many people play there either. Which is good :-)
