Hi Kaddy, and welcome to the forum.
I don't live in Batam, but do have some Australian friends there. Don't worry, you will meet people sooner or later, if there are kids going to school, you will definitely meet.
Just, as a matter of interest, do they have to be Australian, as there are probably other English speaking people living there, I guess that you are afraid that they won't "unnerstan wot you got to say, ehh"

Sorry but that that's the worst interpretation of an Aussie accent I've ever 'heard'...:smile2:

Hi Kaddy,

Ex Brisbane via NZ, Bougainville Is, PNG, Philippines, Japan, UK, Italy, Turkey, USA, UAE now I'm relocating next month to Batam from middle east and really looking forward to the change. Already been there and liked what I saw. Big plus is its convenient and inexpensive for my family and grandkids to fly up on holidays.
If the family is in to sailing I'll be looking for weekend crew begining early next year.

Cheers :typing:

hi..
I have a house in sukajadi, details, (please click the link below)..
Many other expatriates live here (mostly Western, Singaporean, Indian, etc live here in this complex)
Have to come and look for yourself, someone's opinion about something might not the same as yours..
