Criteria :

A company/employer employing a foreigner without having submitted a RPTKA to Depnakertrans and obtained an IMTA (working permit) is eligible for a fine of a minimum of IDR 100 millions minimum and IDR 400 millions maximum and/or a jail sentence of minimum of 1 year and maximum 4 years (art. 185 law 13/2003) .
A foreigner working for such company, even if he is legally residing in Indonesia and work for another company who has a working permit for him, is liable to fine of IDR 25 millions and/or a maximum of 5 years in jail (art. 50 law 9/1992)
Working part time is no excuse and obeys to the same rules.

You are free to be willing to take that risk for yourself, but I would appreciate that you refrain to post this kind of silly illegal proposal on this board... Terima kasih banyak.:)

If in need, I will be happy to forward you the necessary texts of law that you need to go through to be able to employ foreigners.

I wonder why all these Indonesian companies and pseudo-companies do not organize and get together to request amendments from their legislators to the restrictive labor laws relating to foreign workers.

I'm quite amazed there hasn't been a change.
The government is pushing hard to get the schools to teach English but, at the same time, making it almost impossible for schools to get native speakers through the gates on apart time basis they can afford.

Time for an exception in the law.

I suspect certain legislators of particular parties {the same ones who forced through the ridiculous Porn Bill}, are not too keen on opening up the English Teaching market, {or any markets actually} to foreigners for Nationalistic reasons and the usual short sighted and self serving vested interests.
As Davita pointed out some time ago in his private discussions with prominent and powerful citizens, he noted that their focus was only upon increasing their own wealth and power and that they were not concerned at all about the Country or it's people!

That sounds like a fair summery of any politician regardless of country. :)

Because they don't want to employ someone legally and pay taxes etc.
