Selamat malam,

This sunday I'm getting married in Batam with my lovely fiancè. YEAH!
A friend of my girlfriend asked me if I was going to do something special for my bride to be at our wedding. Well, I have no clue what to do! Is it usual that something special has got to happen? Any hints?
I simply have no idea what to do! Bodoh bule :-(

Thanks for any advice!

First of all, it's 'bule bodoh', not 'bodoh bule' if you're gonna call yourself silly. ;)

Your fiancè's friend might just be asking for the sake of asking? I am Indonesian and I don't think there's a 'culture' or 'tradition' of doing anything special at the wedding. I suppose some guys like to serenade their brides at the reception or play an instrument, etc. If you don't sing/play an instrument, perhaps consider doing a Full Monty for her? It'd also be special for the rest of the guests, I can assure you. ;)

All joking aside, a massive congratulation on your upcoming marriage. Wishing you both a lasting union with lotsa joy and sex.

Pak Gondrong, your suggestion is a bit too late. He is already going to get married.

@ OP, my husband didn't do anything special on our wedding except for kissing me on my lips when the priest said that he could kiss his bride (normally here the kiss is on the cheek or forehead).

A friend of mine sung their favorite song at the wedding.

Oh well, it depends on what type of wedding reception are you holding whether or not it'll allow you to improvise.

Interesting post...I assumed that consummating (don't know why that word makes me giggle...same as 'coitus interruptus') a wedding was a legal entity...so I googled.
according to Wiki...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consummation ........under English Law...it is.

@subseageorge and davita, until now, in the catholic law, the vow can still be cancelled if the couple did not consummate (read: intercourse) it.
However, please do correct me if I'm wrong because that law was there even before the Victorian age.

@subseageorge, in Europe it is customary for the groom to kiss the bride on her lips, but not here. I could here everyone gasp in horror when they saw us kissing one another. The priest was very relaxed. We were not the first mixed couple that he had wedded.

Ha ha ha! Thank you for making my day mirthful sweetmaria......by your choice of word above. To consume means to eat or devour...I'm sure you meant consummate, which has a different meaning.

My humerous imagination is of the female Tarantula spider who, after copulation (another funny word)........eats its mate.
I didn't think humans did that...but maybe some do!

Unfortunately I can't sing or dance. I took the advice of going full monty during rehearsal but her parents weren't to pleased with that one!

@ rong rong: bringing some things or A LOT OF THINGS :-)... Maybe I should buy her a house? I like my girl on her flip flops and without make up :-)

Kissing on the lips, I'm thinking of doing that... not sure yet.

Kissing on the lips, It's sure I have do that at my wedding... they even ask for more later while "they" feast.

But... my wife was very shy!!!
