Hi all,

I have been trolling this forum for many months and I can really say that it is an incredible forum with a lot of great contributions and contributers!

I have heard that one can get a KITAS or KITAP that is valid for 2 years and also for 5 years (but the application needs to be done in Jakarta as it is a special application).

Can anyone confirm this?

James

If this is the case, I do hope that Atlantis can reply as soonest possible cause I too am hoping to emigrate to be with my wife and kids after awaiting for many years. Wish that Indonesia would amend it laws and allow a WNA husband to be with his WNI wife/kids in Indonesia as long as he wants thereafter convert to or pindah ke WNI which will be much better. Yes. In fact there are already existing provisions that allows a WNA husband to join his WNI wife/kids. Please follow the following thread for more info.

The only catch is the WNA husband is not allowed to do any forms of work. But once he had gone through 2 years of KITAS and 3 years of KITAP (total of 5 years). The WNA husband can apply for naturalisation (become a WNI) and as a WNI, there are no work restrictions.
