In kupang there isn't much to do. find a guesthouse a little up the road towards the mountain. Only 20.000 Rp per night. you can climb the merbabu in a day and come back. No need for any guide. It's easy.

Merbabu near Kupang? Perhaps you mean Kopeng, which is in Central Java.
Whereas Kupang is the capital of (west) Timor.

seems good . thanks. Any one here who live in Kupang ? My colleague will go business trip here , he will look for an interpreter for long-term cooperation ,English-Kupang languange or Chinese -Kupang local languge ? every time will be about 3 days .
