I will be arriving in Jakarta in April on an expat contract - very excited - just wanted to check what is the norm for holiday leave?

I don't think your question has an answer unless you provide more specifics. Are you working on a USAID project? For an Indonesian company that occasionally hires expats? For a multi-national corporation? For a local English language teaching firm?

Once you let people know the kind of employer you are working for, and the type of work you are doing, they will be better able to help you.

the holiday season in Indonesia is usually on Jun-July (school's out). But if you're talking about home-leave from your employer, you should check your package.
