View Full Version : Infertility problem
Hi everyone,
This is my first thread so please be gentle hehe. I'd like to ask you a few questions related to infertility problem, apologise in advance for bringing up such a sensitive matter. Is there any of you doing/has experience/recommendation of a good infertility clinic in Indonesia?
My friend and her husband have been trying to get pregnant for several years, both of them have infertility problems and the only way to achieve the goal is by doing IVF procedure. They've tried every way they could including acupuncture, traditional treatment etc but still no luck.
Do you think it would be safe doing it in Indonesia or they better of going to Singapore? Any suggestion would be highly appreciated :)
Thanks people

Hi Nickie, my friends wife gave birth 5 weeks ago as a result of IVF. They had three unsuccessful attempts in Bali and had decided to explore adoption as an alternative. They were then recommended to a specialist in Surabaya who apparently is well known throughout the country and has a good success rate. They went for the usual tests (it was the husband who had issues) and decided to give it another go, anyways long story short it was successful and 12 months later the baby was delivered by Cesarean in Bali. I can get you the number of the clinic is you want.
Yes please sky garden if you don't mind that would be awesome! Thanks for the info :)

The specialist they saw was Dr. Aucky Hinting who runs his clinic from Siloam Hospital in Surabaya, the number is (031) 5031333. 5031821, ext. 206. Hope this helps and good luck to your friend.

Who said I was being serious? :)
not really directed at you, but someone gave me neg rep for that comment
What was the reason given for the neg rep? I thought it was cheesey but wouldn't have hit you with neg rep for it.

I'll enlightening you. I don't usually give out negative rep but I said it was insensitive in view of the sensitive nature of the thread even if it was only in jest.
Ya but any chance of him getting any work?

I smell jealousy here...
Back to topic, I have finally gathered some information about IVF including where and how, price, risks involved etc. If there is anyone out there need this kind of info please PM me. I believe some people are not comfortable enough to talk about this in the forum :)

as for being insensitive, well my ex wife had polycystic overies and we were unable to have a child together, so i know all about this problem. Also, the OP didnt have a problem with it, so whats it got to do with you? lighten up, will ya!
I saw nothing wrong with NUMUU's joke. It is a joke, and wont be said to the person who have the issue, I believe.
Not in a serious way, anyway.
I'm hitting you with pos rep to counter that neg rep, NUMUU.

Been there , done that.
My son is 11 years old now and guess what..he is IVF baby (testube baby). we did it in Rs. Harapan Kita - Slipi. They have all the latest equipment, all you need is time and patients.
One more thing..I don't have zipper on my belly tho.. ;-).. it was natural birth.
fell free to PM me is you need more info and details of the prosses

Was that deliberate? :)
Anyway it raises a good point, the first specialist my friend saw promised them the world and they kept paying the $. They had several unsuccessful attempts. When they saw the second guy (the doctor I mentioned in post 4) he said they had been on the totally wrong treatment. Doctor Hinting offered them no guarantees unlike the Bali doctor. Point is, it appears even doctors are not beyond bending the truth where money is concerned.

Preferred option however my friends wife is in her late 30's they decided C Section was safer, guess they decided a small scar was an acceptable price to pay

Worth talking to Dr Budi Santoso at the IVF clinic at Dr Soetomo RS in Surabaya also - they do about 90 a year. I haven't checked their success rate as we got a result (finally) in Oz but he's a great bloke with good English and seemed to know his stuff from our discussions over the last year.

Hey John thanks a lot, but they decided to do it in Aus (they both hold residency), and apparently gets covered by Medicare. So overall the out of pocket cost is not much at all, even then it's still covered by their private health insurance.
