Hmmm perhaps we should have expat forum party, it's a good time for the members to meet?
Anytime January 2nd until January 7th 2009, in Jakarta suits me just fine :)

....dress code just casual ...and maybe this will idea ....food and drink ...we share ...what i mean in here ..every couple bring one kind of food or drink ...this easy to arrange the party...not exact party but for 1st gathering....

Guys, i have an experience to organize expat forum gathering in 2005 :D. It was in a small cafe in Central Jakarta around Thamrin, but only girls were attended to that gathering.
So, this up coming Gathering Expat Forum Party, i hope that all of you as Expat Forum members (hehe..) available to come to the gathering.
First, before i post the list of the member who will come to the gathering, we need to discuss The Date, The Day, The Time and Place.
Option for the day should be on the weekend. Saturday or Sunday.
If you guys want to continue night out we can choose Friday evening after work.
The Time should be at lunch time for saturday or sunday.
Saturday we can choose in the evening too and continue night out.
Place:
We need to choose the area. South Jakarta? or Central Jakarta?
Cafe.
Restaurant.
Home.
Appreciated to anyone who can give some advise.

I'll go with an evening meet so people can continue to hang around later into the night if they choose. How about 7 pm?

I don't mind hang out with the ladies in the forum.
BTW..just suggestion for the venue :
- Loewy ( good catches for singles, although I'm getting bored with their weekend brunch and their new bitchy hostess, love their lychee and tiramisu martini )
- Gourmet Garage Kemang
- Oakroom in Oakwood
- Cosi restaurant in FX ( affordable price, free wifi, love that cheese rice )

BTW..is people here agree to gather at Loewy in the afternoon? it's walking distance to Mystere ( if you guys want to continue for night life) and Mal Ambassador. Nice place for singles and family. Anyway, they require 2 weeks reservation in advance.

True Burgundy, it's all about Gathering not a hooking up event. Single,couple, family just come along. It's just happen that we the indo women who organize this event.

After some discussion with some members on this forum by Pm & YM, Finally we have chose and decided about the date, time and venue as below:
Date : Saturday, February 7th, 2009
Time : 5 Pm until finish - we can continue for night out as well
Place : Loewy - OakWood Building, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta Selatan
This is Pure Gathering Party and anyone of you who is married, engage, couple or single - You can bring your Mr, Mrs, Son, Daughter, boyfriend, girlfriend, Fiance or partner Because you are allowed to bring.
Another information to anyone who never been to Loewy;
They have such a range price for the food and drink.
Range price of the food is around Rp 40,000 to Rp 100,000
Range price of the drink is around Rp 22,000 to Rp 75,000
The important thing for the bill is we go Dutch To Dutch.
(In bahasa we call it Bs Bs or Bayar Sendiri Sendiri) :)
Dress should be well, can formal, casual but no sandal.
We will have some topic to discuss. Especially about gathering in the next. etc. something would be fun for this forum and the comuinity.

My husband usually comes home from work around 6-6:30. I have to wait for him coz he has to take care of our kid. :-) How long do you think it wil take for me to get there from Pondok Indah considering the traffic? If it will take 2 hours (esp if it rains) then maybe I will pass up on this and wait for the next event, we will hopefully have a babysitter ready by then. Anyway, since Ishtar Summer is coming, I will send her an sms if I can make it or not. Thanks!
