Cholera, the fast-killing infection is new to Haiti. this infection is kind of weird phenomenon. Measles is the most common infection after disastermath.
about Cholera, the most "ridiculous thought" from Haitian : this infection due to Voodoo...

No worse than some Africans thinking that AIDS is being deliberately caused by the CIA lacing condoms to kills black people

Indonesia has been mismanaged, yes, but not to the extent of Haiti. To think that it was one France's richest and wealthiest possession. Had France not lost the revenue that came from Haiti, it might never have sold the Louisiana Territory.

@ Hombre : yup, Indonesia has been mismanaged, but at most remote areas or even in a big cities, they still believe Voodoo..
that's why Paranormal-shaman are still exist here!

I don't get it. Is there a causal relationship between voodoo and governmental mismanagement? Which causes which?

dear waarmstrong

@ Indonesia : much better than Haiti, but corruption-political problems made health problem not get any progress.
and on the other hand, Indonesia people, especially at remote areas, still believe at Voodoo. so, some health projects can't be applied due to community beliefs-resistance.
causal relationship? i think only one.. governmental mismanagement caused
1. health program is lack of budget and human resources
2. most of Indonesia live in illiteracy, lack of education. and as its result, they still believe at voodoo and have resistance on Health Projects.

...yeah, and others believe in prophets, one deity, holy texts and miracles. At the end of the day, what's the difference?

Some believe in the infallibility of a mysterious creature called a "Dawkins" who created a a divine law saying swearing on anti religious websites is haram.
His angels rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your Dawkins, and they believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice and all said, "F*** you bar steward, I'm swearing if I want".

Is that all you got? Is that your vaunted "analytic approach"?

About as much as your usual Dorkins inspired anti religious crap.

Perhaps we could go with your belief in the great prophet Thomas Pain.

Your anti wife beating stance is rather undermined by your faith in a wife beater to the point you quote the famous wife beating and total failed idiot's, very own psudo wisdom as your sig.

I'll make you a deal. You stop knocking my beliefs and I'll stop pulling your's apart.

You'll stop? You haven't even started. If you think my beliefs hang on Dawkins and Paine, you are truly beyond your depth. My beliefs do not depend on shielding them from criticism and inquiry. Quite the contrary.

That's handy as dorkins is an extremist idiot as bad in beliefs as any extremist religious type and pain left marks on both of his wives and may have even murdered one.

The latter did rather worse than my prophet. Mine is honoured all over the world while yours, pain, was tossed out of two countries and wasn't exactly welcome where he ended up.

Once again, is that all you got?

My prophet? What rubbish!

Ah, the prophet that didn't prophesy.

Once again, is that all you got?

My prophet? What rubbish!

"It is error only, and not truth, that shrinks from inquiry."

True. I made a mistake, your god.

Wrong again. I have no good. No idea, concept or (human) being is beyond criticism or reproach.

But I'll give you a hint to help you along in your quixotic venture since you are so far off the mark. If you want to pick apart my (and everyone else's) discourse, you'll need to read up on French post-structuralism. It does not hinge on your ad hominem against Paine, or an infantile "my prophet is better than your prophet" tirade.
