View Full Version : Tottenham 3- Arsenal 2
Tottenham totally nailed the Gooners....They magnificently climbed back from 2 goals deficit....Surely one of their best game this season ....
Superb save from Gomes , Fabregas's banana shoot, after his early blunder that caused Nasri's goal
WHt do you all say ?
I'd say, I see the similarities with the late 90's Leeds United phenomena with :
Gareth Bale = Harry Kewell
Jermaine Defoe = Robby Keane
Modric = Dacourt
Assou Ekotto = Ian Harte
Gomes = Nigel Martyn
Missed the game but caught the highlights, looked to be a great game. A draw would have been the fairest result with Arsenal on top first half, Spurs on top second half. Cant help thinking that Arsenal will miss out again due to Wenger's stubborness - why does he not buy a quality keeper and a big ugly centre-half who can kick people and win headers. He seems to want to have fancy centrebacks playing one-two's up the pitch but in the EPL you have to have a Terry or a Vidic who can withstand the physical onslaught. Arsenal have not had that since Sol Campbell deteriorated.
I think Spurs have the making of a really good team, better than the Leeds team of the 90's. call me crazy but I reckon Robbie Keane = Robbie Keane, they seem very similar, almost identical in fact.
It was a good game. I thought the whole thing ended after Arsenal lead 2-0 first half, but second half was stunning....My analysis why Tottenham fell 2-0 on first half because Redknapp was worried about Arsenal's midfield quality, so Instead of using the usual 4-4-2 formation, he went on to 4-4-1-1 With Van der vaart as second striker and keep Defoe in the bench....
But second half was totally different, Spurs went back to their original 4-4-2 formation that trashed Inter Milan few weeks ago, and we could see Modric fooked Arsenal's midfield. Though Arsenal's locked up Bale with at least 3 players, but Defoe's entrance on 2nd half causes Spurs ball mobility to move triple faster....
Arsene needs to change his perspective regarding new kids on the block winning the trophy. They're good players but mentalitywise- Not Yet !!! Arsenal need a senior star player, not in particular position specifically, just star player with great morale that could motivate the players...
