I was wondering if someone could tell me where a child can learn how to:
1. Play chess?
2. Calculate with Abacus?
3. Play tennis?
And what is the minimum age for each activity
Thanks.

Actually I can teach him tennis, but I still need a court somewhere.
The other two I don't understand at all.
Anyone got a tennis court I can use every now and then?

Oh I see.

Many big cities have these tennis court things, you will also find you need one if someone else teaches him.

I'd never considered that using an abacus would have that much use, and you could probably find how to use it from the net, I find them limited for quadratics though.

Why don't you buy a cheap chess computer or software and both learn chess?

curious, this is CA last post, did he get banned for this one? :p

I was thinking, if I get the tennis instructor, he can handle the logistics of renting the court.
Software is convenient, but it is easier to learn from a person in front of you.
Thanks for the input though..

http://www.alabacus.com/

They sell a complete math curriculum using abacus and other manipulatives. I just went to homeschool expo and I browsed through everything they have and spent an hour talking to their reps.
