Hi,

I am planning to buy a Toyota Innova, but since this model is already for some years on road I just wonder whether it will be replaced soon. Any information?

How much rebate do you get for a new Innova G or V type?
How much rebate for a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport?
Any experience?

Thanks

Buying the first edition of a new model is usually not recommended. They tend to have more defects that get rectified only after a few years of use.

When Toyota brings a "all new" model on the market, they have changed only 20% of the technology. This is why Toyota is quite reliable, but technically always behind its competitors from Germany - and maybe France. So I would mind to buy a "new" Toyota model.

I've always been a fan of Mitsubishi. The Pajero Sport is nice, particularly the manual 4wd diesel models...

Mitsubishi: Yeah, this is a great car, but 370 mil - just wonder how rebate you would get. I tried once, not very hard though, but they didn't go down with the price. Instead they said i could have the spoiler packe for free ... not very tempting to me.

Probably a simple facelift by changing the front grill and calling it the "All New" Innova.... And maybe all will have electronic climate control and no more knobs?

The facelift for the Innova was done in 2009

What's to stop them from doing another one for 2011?? The Toyota Fortuner had the same deal just like the Ford Everest from 2009 to 2010... Everybody was changing the front fenders and grill to keep up with the newer ones...

Why I might consider the Innova V type are security features such as Airbags and ABS. Only Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuner and Innova V type offer this in the 7-seater categorie. Well, there is the VW Touran, which is incredibly expensive in Indonesia.

Don't buy the Fortuner.... Been there and done that. It's body is an Innova on steroids, and just a few fancy options for tens of million more than the Innova.

@ tjamail:

Oh yes, there is the Everest with compound springs - car sickness garanteed on the back seats :)

As I've said before here, the Fortuner as it is sold in Indonesia is too expensive and underpowered. For less money, you can get a 3.0L TDI 4WD Hilux.

The Pajero Sport is nice, but look at its underbelly if you plan to go off-road. Some of the innards actually protrude below the ladder rails thereby diminishing clearance.

Well maybe, but judging by the recent flood of Toyota recalls, I wouldn't be betting the farm on the reliability of their new stuff.

I suggest you to buy Nissan Serena CT (IDR 279.4 Mio before Disc) compare to Kijang Innova V Type A/T (IDR 289.1 Mio before disc).
Innova is very over value and not as luxurious / elegant as Nissa Serena.
ABS, Airbag, 7 seater (Captain seat), reliable and very comfort car.
Gas consumption are same. Service & spare part almost same and some part cheaper than Innova.

Although the used price not as good as Toyota, but it still have a good price.
For example for Nissan Serena CT 2007 price between IDR 200-215 Mio.

You will get higher class, more convidence when you use it.
Trust me ...

No higher class....:wof:.. pomped up Alphard wanabe status more likely, I would not take one if they were given away ( well maybe if they gave, but would not invest in one of any age

Nissan Elgrand is the same class with Alphard in CC and price, so not a good comparison between Serena and Alphard, not a competitor.
Nissan Serena have almost same CC and price with Innova but has a higher level.

There is no such thing as rebate here in Indonesia. In fact, lowering MSRP prices is a nono price scheme in ALL Indonesia ATPMs (sole name rights holder) and it has been covered by Indonesian Auto Journalists where the head of ATPMs have admitted that they will not lower such price at all costs even when the exchange rate is lower. The only way to get lower prices is to haggle with the sales person for a larger discount than what is officially authorized upon them.
